in the dark times – a presentation of original music by Charlie Leftridge

I’m delighted to invite everyone to a presentation of my original music and poetry, featuring string quartet and voice. The evening will include a performance of my song cycles “in the dark times” and “/ˈlɪmən(ə)l/.” The text and music explore the complexities and joys of queer experience in small and rural spaces.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. I’m also grateful to Brian Frink/RACA Gallery at the Poor Farm Studios for providing a wonderful space for this experience. And thanks to Brad Widness for allowing me to use an image of his beautiful intaglio “Ripped to Core.”
