I explore combining images to create concept pieces that highlight the human condition, struggles and resilience; pieces that combine elements in an unusual and provocative way; and pieces featuring challenges facing the natural world in a catastrophically ever-changing environment.
I participated in art exhibits in Fairmont in Martin County and paintings were chosen for a juried art show at the Lakes Art Center in Okoboji, Iowa. Exhibits include at Farmers State Bank in Trimont, Red Rock Center for the Arts in Fairmont, Cottonwood County Historical Society in Windom and at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter. I received a Minnesota State Arts Board grant for 2024-25 and several grants from Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council. I took art classes at Wayne State University in Detroit (focusing on drawing), Wright Community College in Chicago (focusing on still life and human figure painting) and a bachelor of science degree at Mankato State University with a minor in art. I also paint on commission.
